Best groomer on Westside/Santa Monica
The SM Pet Project is simply first rate. Professional, caring, gentle with the animals. My wife and I have been consistently delighted with the service, price and service. I am highly suspicious of the one strong negative review - which is cut and pasted from other review sites (Google maps etc). I wonder if it is genuine, or the result of some other less honest purpose. On Google maps, for example, it is the only negative review out of 29, here the only negative out of 5. Go figure. Regardless, after years of being frustrated and disappointed with other groomers, and felling overcharged for mediocre work, we are genuinely delighted to have found Pet Project. We were lucky - we were told about it thanks to a chance meeting in a SM dog park. That positive word of mouth is, surely, the best advertising of all. Ask around - this place has a solid reputation resulting from great work. Frankly, I hate to think that someone is using on-line review boards to attempt to trash a good business. Makes you wonder who would do such a thing, doesn't it? Shame on that person.

Poor Quality and Over Priced!
I've only taken my dog to this groomer once and I will never go back! Don't take your dog here if you care about what he/she looks like or the quality of service. I have a shih-tzu (long haired dog) that I brought here for a trim and they cut her hair way too short, even after I told them exactly what I wanted. If I wanted a short-haired dog I wouldn't have gotten her in the first place. They cut her hair really choppy and uneven. They started to trim one side of her tail and stopped half-way through. They did not shave the hair between her eyes as I asked them to, which if you have a shih-tzu you know is really important so her eyes don't get irritated. And they left some tangles in her hair. She did not even seem like she was bathed because she did not smell like she was recently groomed. I paid more than I ever have to get her groomed ($50) and I was very upset! I called to get a refund and they said they would only offer to fix whatever I did not like. Like I would trust them with her again! Do not waste your money here!

It's a merical! by augusto p. at InsiderPages
My dog has always hated going to the groomer. I can't tell you what a hassle it was just getting him to walk through to door of my last groomers. That's all in the past now. Believe me when I tell you it's a miracle. Now he pulls me through the door to see his favorite person in the whole wide world, Auntie Sioux, from whom he gets a regular bath and message. I'll never go anywhere else.

Best care and grooming in town.
Best Prices, too! I can't imagine what happened with the disgruntled poster above, but just about everyone in my neighborhood takes their dogs here for baths and grooming and we all LOVE it. I have nothing but the nicest things to say about Jeff (owner) and the rest of the staff. They really love animals and are kind, loving ,and gentle to all that come here. My dog once got an 'unfortunate' short cut here, but it was due to extreme matting, and they called me beforehand to discuss the options, and what would be best for the dog's comfort. They have always been extremely professional, and I would refer anyone to them in a heart beat.

Best groomer this side of the 405 !
Jeff from SM Pet Project is amazing. He is extremely thorough in that he carefully reviews exactly what you want done beforehand. He works with the needs of your pet and each time gives a elaborate overview of what happened during the visit, what the pet likes and dislikes. Not only is he very professional but he also is loving and provides a great environment for what can sometimes be an uncomfortable experience for your pet. We know our baby girl can be a handful and whenever we pick her up when she's given Jeff a workout but she adores him and I would not trust her special needs with anyone else.
